BISMARCK (NewsDakota.com) – For the second year in row, the Jamestown High boys basketball team will play in the West Region Championship Game and the Class A state tournament following a 73-67 win over Minot on Friday night.
Jamestown lead by 9-12 most of the game, but Minot’s Jaxon Gunville tried to shoot the Magi back into the game and did so down the stretch. With just over three minutes left, a Gunnville triple and a three-shot foul trip cut the score to 61-58.
Ryder Lunzman had the answer for the Jays on the other side with a pair of triples to run the lead to 69-61.
Mason Walters lead the way with 17. Lunzman had 12, all coming from beyond the arc after halftime.
The Jays will play either Bismarck or Mandan at 7:45pm on Saturday night in the championship.
