VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- During a special meeting Friday, The Valley City School Board announced that Fastpitch softball would become a fully sponsored school sport.
The motioned called for the change to begin this season with a reevaluation for up coming school years.

“Valley City Public Schools is pleased to announce that for the first time in program history, the High School Fastpitch Softball Program will be fully sponsored by the school district during the 2019 season.
Through a generous donation of equipment and funds to VCPS from The Valley City Fastpitch Softball Association, The Hi-Liner Fastpitch Softball Program will be sponsored by Valley City Public Schools and led by Activates Director Mike Schultz.
Schultz states “We are excited to sponsor the high softball program in 2019 and appreciative of the generosity and support of the program of The Softball Association to make this possible. We will re-evaluate the sponsorship of the program at the conclusion of the 2019 season”
A search from a head coach for the program will begin immediately. The first day of practice for the high school program will be Monday, March 18th. Information regarding a parent meeting and registration will be forthcoming.”
