GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A strong storm system will move into the Northern Plains with significant snowfall amounts possible across the region.

With this system strong wind gusts Wednesday night into Thursday gusting 45 to 55 mph.

A wintry mix, of rain, heavy snow and blizzard conditions are possible depending on location and where the precipitation transitions sets up according to the National Weather Service. Below is a map of the potential snow fall amounts with include 8 to 12 inches in the Jamestown and Valley City area.
