FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Fines await some drivers who ventured onto a closed I-94 between Bismarck and Fargo.

The interstate is now open again after drifts were cleared, but there’s scattered ice and rough spots. State patrol lieutenant Troy Hischer says close to three dozen drivers, including some in semis, decided not to follow the rules when the freeway was closed.

One driver told Hischer that they first went south on I-29, west on Highway 46 and then made their way north to a closed I-94.
