JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Saturday, April 6, the Blue Jay Speech team participated in the WDA Region Tournament in Bismarck.

The team achieved exemplary success with 26 state qualifying events including 5 WDA champions. Alivia Hoke placed 1st in both Humorous Interpretation and Speech to Entertain, Samara McDermid and Joseph Lauinger placed 1st in Serious Duo, MacKenzie Johnson placed 1st in Speech to Inform, and Madison Motschenbacher placed 1st in Speech to Persuade. The Blue Jay team as whole placed 2nd at the meet.

The state qualifiers will perform at the Arts Center on Thursday, April 11, from 5:00-9:00 pm. This event is free and the public can come for part or all of the performances.

The state meet is this Saturday, April 13, from 9:00-4:00 at Jamestown High School and is also open to the public.
