LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Community Volunteer EMS of LaMoure received, among others, the 2019 Service of the Year award by the North Dakota EMS Association.

The award was given during the 44th Annual NDEMSA Conference and Tradeshow in Bismarck, April 11-13. The winner is picked from the 4 regional award recipients. According to the organization’s website the award “is to recognize a service that significantly contributed to the provision, development and improvement of pre-hospital care and EMS education in their community.” The LaMoure EMS was also named the 2019 Southeast Region Service Award recipients.

The association also awarded individuals at their event. Kelli Just is the Squad Leader, EMT Leader, and Training Officer for the LaMoure EMS. Just was awarded the 2019 EMS Provider of the Year. The award is given to those who have “selflessly devoted a tremendous amount of personal time to the local and state provision, development and improvement of prehospital care, as well as EMS education in their community.”

Just will represent North Dakota at the Stars of Life Celebration in Washington, DC in June.

The Community Volunteer EMS of LaMoure has a 600 square mile boundary, covering LaMoure, Dickey, Ransom, and Barnes Counties. The LaMoure squad has over 40 volunteers.
