JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department arrested two individuals after a brief pursuit Wednesday evening.

Lt. Sid Mann reports that just before 8 PM, a shoplifting report was made by Wal-Mart. The vehicle involved was reported to have struck a parked car as it left the parking lot. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle in the 1300 block of 4th Avenue NW.

“The vehicle fled southbound on 4th Avenue NW and later out to Highway 20,” Lt. Mann says in the report. “The pursuit continued into Stutsman County with speeds ranging from 48 to 65 mph.”

Stutsman County Deputies set up spike strips near MM 18 on Highway 20, but the vehicle avoided them and went into a field where it became stuck.

27 year-old driver Ulanda TwoHearts of Fort Totten and 27 year-old passenger Brittany Reyes of Fargo were arrested. They were charged with shoplifting, fleeing or attempting to elude, and outstanding warrants.

“The suspects allegedly shoplifted what is believed to be around $1100 in merchandise,” Lt. Mann reported.

The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, Barnes County Sheriff’s Department, Valley City Police Department and NDHP assisted in the case.
