JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Finance & Legal Committee approved to enter into an agreement with Jamestown Community Corrections to keep payment and continue the community service project.

Dell Horn, director of Jamestown Community Corrections, says they have provided community service projects with a focus on work within the city of Jamestown.

Horn says the hours primarily came through the landfill, but with the chance in garbage pickup, the hours dropped. He says now they get a lot of hours volunteering at the Civic Center cleaning up after events.

In total, 1,167 hours of volunteering for 2018. Horn asked the city if they would enter into an agreement to continue funding the volunteer service.

Horn estimates they receive around $600 a month from the city to keep up the service. The committee approved entering into an agreement for the rest of 2019.
