MANDAN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A walleye record was caught in North Dakota.

Tom Volk of Lincoln, ND caught a 16 pound 9-ounce Walleye along the shore of the Heart River in Mandan on Sunday, April 21st.

The 32-and-a-half inch fish broke the old record by 3/4 of a pound. The record was previously held by Neal Leier of Bismarck after he caught his record Walleye on the Missouri River in May of 2018.
