STEELE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 2019 Class B Region III High School Baseball Tournament starts on Monday, May 20th with four games on the schedule at Pirate Field in Steele. The Carrington Cardinals are the number one seed and are pursuing their fifth consecutive region title, last year they finished third at the state tournament in Jamestown. Carrington will play the second game of the day against the number four seeded Mustangs of Midkota/Griggs County Central/Dakota Prairie/Lakota. The region consists of just four teams, as Medina/Pingree/Buchanan played a JV schedule this year. All the games will be broadcast on KDAK AM 1600/FM 100.1 and newsdakota.com, here is the first day schedule:

10am – No. 2 Sheyenne/New Rockford vs. No. 3 Kidder County

1230pm – No. 1 Carrington vs. No. 4 Midkota/GCC/DP/L

3pm – elimination game

530pm – semifinal

The double elimination, 2-day tourney will wrap up on the Tuesday starting at noon, the championship set for 230pm, and second championship if necessary at 5pm. The winner will advance to the State Class B Baseball tourney in Fargo at Newman Outdoor Field on May 30th, 31st and June 1st.
