BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Game & Fish Department always encourages getting outdoors, but to those who do, they ask that you leave all baby animals alone.

It’s hard to resist saving a baby bird, deer, or other cute, young wildlife creature, but Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says they highly encourage you to leave them be if you see them outdoors.

Leier says often when you see young wildlife alone, it’s because you found where the mother’s have hid them away.

Another reminder Leier says is reducing the spread of aquatic nuisance species.

As always, Leier encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.

You can listen to Doug Leier every Thursday at 7:20 AM on Big Dog Country 95.5 FM with JD in the Morning.
