OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After Saturday was rained out, the quarter and semifinals were moved to Monday from Cummings Field in Oakes.

Here’s how the quarterfinals unfolded:

LLM 15, Northern Cass 1 (F/5)

In the first game of the afternoon, LaMoure-Litchville/Marion’s squad came out firing on all cylinders in their 15-1 victory over the Northern Cass Jaguars.

LLM scored in all four innings at the plate and scored multiple runs in the first three innings (four in the 1st, six in the 2nd, four in the 3rd and one in the 4th).

The Loboes were given a boost from their starting pitcher Weston Klein who pitched three innings surrendering only one run and added a couple RBI’s at the plate.

Oakes 7, Central Cass 1

Oakes’ starting pitcher Taylor Schall got the nod last night in the quarterfinals against Central Cass and he was brilliant for his third consecutive start. He gave up the one run in seven innings and has allowed just one run over his last three starts (17 innings). Schall also added an RBI.

The semifinals then had LLM VS Kindred/Richland and Oakes VS Enderlin/Maple Valley

LLM 7, Kindred/Richland 6

Through three innings of the first semifinal game, both Kindred’s Sawyer Rolland and LLM’s Jace Hanson tossed nothing but zeroes. There were two combined base runners through three innings.

LaMoure would strike against Rolland for four runs in the 4th inning thanks to RBI base knocks from Jace Hanson, Landon Piehl and Jacob Ulmer.

The Loboes had a 5-1 lead headed into the bottom of the 6th, but it was Kindred’s turn to put together an inning at the plate. Kindred tied the game up in an eclectic attack. Andy Frier reached on a drop 3rd strke to begin the inning and then Kindred strung together three singles and three walks to knot the game up at five a piece. RBI’s in the inning from Atley Ingebrigtson, Carter Lingen, Michael Hall and Jon Twedt.

Top of the 7th came around and LaMoure struck for two runs on a single from Shay Ness, who finished with two RBI’s, and a suicide squeeze laid down by Jace Hanson. The Loboes took a two run lead with three outs to go.

Kindred didn’t go away quietly, however. After a pair of groundouts to begin the Kindred half of the 7th, Ingebrigtson would single and Trenton Dufner would double him home to make it 7-6. With two gone and Dufner 90 feet away, LaMoure pitcher Mac Bierman would get a weak groundout to third to end the game, and the Loboes hung on.

Oakes 2, Enderlin/Maple Valley 12 (F/5)

Playing in their second game of the evening, Oakes jumped out to a two run lead in the first inning thanks to the top of the lineup (Coy Awender, Taylor Schall and Adam Neustel).

But that was all Oakes could celebrate.

Enerlin/Maple Valley, the defending Region 1 Champs, would go on a 12-0 run to close the game out in five innings. For the second straight year, the Falcons knock out Oakes in the semifinals to advance to the region championship game.

The championship round will be a best of three series between Enderlin/Maple Valley and LaMoure-Litchville/Marion. Game one is set for 4:30 Tuesday, May 21st. It’s not set in stone when game number two will be played. With potential weather threats tonight, games two and three, if needed, could be pushed back until Thursday.
