FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Day two of the 2019 Class B Baseball Tournament was held again at Newman Outdoor Field with four games, here are the results:

 

North Star 12 Mohall/LSG 4

 

Carrington 11 Minot Bishop Ryan 6
The Lions jumped out early scoring four runs in two innings, but that would be the only scoring until the seventh inning for the Lions, Carrington scored two in the home half of the third, four more in the fourth and five in the sixth to beat the Lions and head into the consolation championship on Saturday. Both teams combined for 11 errors, seven by the Cardinals. Senior Kyle Leapaldt picks up the victory on the mound, working five and two-thirds, four runs, two earned, seven strikeouts, 10 hits and two walks. Drew Page worked a third of an inning, Payton Smith worked an inning as well. The loss goes to Kersey Harris, working three and two-thirds, six runs, one earned, two strikeouts, five hits and four walks. At the plate for Carrington, Senior Payton Smith had four singles and an RBI. Lucas Geiszler, Leapaldt, Nic Lyman and Ethan Buskness knocked in two runs each. Sophomore Logan Merck had three singles and an RBI for the Lions.

Thompson 5 Enderlin/Maple Valley 4 (semifinal)

The Falcons were down 5-1 heading into the top of the fifth, but scored three runs to close the gap to one run, but couldn’t get any more runs across later in the game. Senior Chance Bye takes the loss on the mound, working five and a third innings, five runs, three earned, 11 strikeouts and one walk. The winning pitcher was Junior Clay Odenbach, working five innings, relieved by Marcus Hughes for an inning and then came back in to shut the door, he threw 116 pitches, no runs, 12 strikeouts, four walks and only one hit. Bye had the only hit for EMV, a RBI single in the fifth inning. Senior Hayden Overby was 1-for-2 at the plate for the Tommies, knocking in two runs on a triple and scored a run. The Tommies improve to 19-2 overall and will make their way into the championship for the fourth consecutive year.
