JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For 12 years and running, the Running of the Pink has raised thousands of dollars to assist area individuals with breast and cervical cancer screenings.

The “No Excuses” program was rolled out to meet the demand for screenings and help those who couldn’t afford them.

Tara Kapp, Running of the Pink organizer said they’ve increased screenings from around 16 a year to more than 100 a year in Stutsman County. To help fund the program, the Running of the Pink donates all money raised through raffles, the 5k/10k run walk and donations.

In 2018, 710 people registered for the event. Kapp says the final numbers for the  2019 fundraiser will be released later.

The 12th Annual Running of the Pink was held Saturday, June 1st in Jamestown with the start and finish line at RM Stoudt.
