VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One man was injured after he was ejected from his vehicle on I-94 near Valley City Sunday night.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that Steve Eversole Jr. of Mandan was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when he failed to maintain his lane 4 miles east of Valley City. The pickup slid out of control, entered the south ditch and rolled. He was ejected and subsequently pinned under his vehicle.

A farmer had noticed the crash and arrived a short time later with a large loader to lift and free Eversole from his vehicle. He was airlifted from the scene to a Fargo Hospital.

Eversole was not wearing his seatbelt and is facing a DUI charge. The crash remains under investigation.
