VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several drivers competed in the annual Soap Box Derby Saturday and Sunday in Valley City.
Co-event coordinator Scott Miller said 10 year-old Aubriana Storhoff of Buffalo, ND captured the Super Stock Division while Carter Geiger of Wilton, ND grabbed first place in the Stock Division. The two will compete in the international Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio next month.
Miller said a free will spaghetti feed fundraiser will be held June 24th at the Eagles Club in Valley City to help defray the cost of the trip for the winners going to Akron. For more details call Scott at 840-2417.
Miller said the race was suspended Saturday, June 8th after a Gas Leak was reported in the 600 block of Central Avenue in Valley City followed by rain showers. The final rounds were completed on Sunday, June 9th.
