JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Humane Society is celebrating Adopt A Shelter Cat Month by lowering their adoptions fees this June.

American Humane reports that June is the height of “kitten season” when millions of kittens are born and often end up in shelters.

James River Humane Society Board Member Jay Nitchke.

Nitchke also reports that the ongoing feral cat capture program is seeing a lot of success.

All captured feral cats are neutered or spayed. The humane society continues to seek locations that will accept a few feral cats.

The shelter continues to welcome volunteers to care for the cats and dogs. She says they would also enjoy individuals to come out and spend time with the animals.
