MEDORA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Six people are now  in the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. Two of those individuals were born and raised in Barnes County.

Darrell Hermanson was voted into the Modern-era rodeo category. He grew up on a farm south of Litchville, ND.

And Walter Piehl Jr. from Marion, ND is now in the hall of honorees in the Western Arts & Entertainment Division. Piehl’s father was an inductee back in 2012.

Rick Thompson is the executive director of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. He said talked about Darrell Hermanson and Walter Piehl Jr. in this interview with Steve Urness.

It’s the 25th year honoring individuals, ranches, livestock and organizations that made significant contributions to the development and promotion of North Dakota’s livestock industry, ranching, or western lifestyle.
