JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Broadway Musical based on the popular novel by Louisa May Alcott will be performed by the Jamestown High School Advanced Theater Arts on June 27th & 28th.

Director Mike McIntyre says “Little Women” has been brought to the stage in numerous adaptations, but JHS will be performing the Broadway version that debuted in 2005.

“Little Women” follows the story of the four March sisters; Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. The four and their beloved Marmee live in Concord, Massachusetts while their father is away serving during the Civil War.

McIntyre says they have been rehearsing since after Memorial Day.

Recent graduate Alivia Hoke has been performing in the summer musicals for several years.

Junior Westin Walker says this is his second musical.

McIntyre says the show will be enjoyable for all ages.

Students in the show include Logan Motter, Jackson Arends, Catherine Suckow, Alivia Hoke, Ciarra Sayler, Paris Ndikum, Ian Weis, Joseph Lauinger, Alexis Smith, Samara McDermid, Kaitlyn Roemmich, Westin Walker, Zoe Bennett, Anja McDermid, and Monica Ripplinger with directors Mike and Tony McIntyre.

Tickets for the show are $5 for students and $7 for adults and will be available at the door each night of the show. Shows start at 7 PM.
