LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – LaMoure Post 19 posted a couple big innings en route to their 13-5 victory over Oakes Tuesday.

Oakes scored first as Coy Awender drew a lead off walk and scored on three wild pitches, but LaMoure’s lineup didn’t let the lead last for long. LaMoure scored five times in the opening frame with three of those runs coming with two outs. Mac Bierman and Jacob Ulmer each had sacrifice hits to bring in a run in the inning.

Trailing by four, Oakes scratched across two more in the 2nd from an RBI single off the bat of Garret Meehl and a throwing error, but LaMoure matched it with two runs in the 3rd and busted it open in 5th inning.

LaMoure struck for six runs in an eclectic inning by scoring on two bases loaded walks, a single, a double and a hit batter.

Oakes’ lineup was shut down for the most part registering just three hits and left seven on base. Next time out for Oakes is Saturday in Grand Forks.
