MEDORA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Walter Piehl Jr. grew up on a farm near Marion, ND. He was inducted into the Western Arts & Entertainment Division of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame on June 15th.

We had a chance to catch up with David Borlaug the director of the Capitol Art Gallery in Bismarck. He said they now have a Capitol Gallery West in the Harold Schafer Heritage Center in Medora.

Former Miss Rodeo North Dakota Codi Ann Miller is a rising artist and has her artwork is also on display in the Harold Schafer Heritage Center in Medora.

The legacy of Harold Schafer, the father of modern Medora, was a legendary North Dakota businessman and philanthropist, his legacy is on display through artwork and videos in the center.

Harold Schafer said, “Do the best you can with what you have, where you are. No one can do more. No one should do less.” The words of Harold Schafer. Inside the Heritage Center, you’ll see the fruition of those words.

The Harold Schafer Heritage Center in Medora is open to the public now through September 6 of 2019 from 10am to 6pm MDT.
