JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Earlier this year, the City of Jamestown made a decision to require the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) to forward all requests for funding to the South Central Dakota Regional Council (SCDRC) without any recommendation in the future to them and the Stutsman County Commission.

JSDC Executive Director Connie Ova came before the Stutsman County Commission Tuesday evening and informed them of the current policy regarding dues for the SCDRC.

Ova stated she did not like the change made by the city without first talking with all entities involved. Ova stated that she’s doesn’t think the city’s decision was “kosher” to change the policy.

When asked why the city would want to make the change, Ova said it was possibly to keep the SCDRC “out of the news”.

Auditor Nicole Meland stated that it was preferable that the requests continue to just go through the JSDC.

Ova informed the commission that she would talk about the policy and procedures with the SCDRC at their next meeting
