FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Payton Reed’s first home run of the season broke a 4-4 tie and highlighted a six run fourth inning lifting Fargo to a 10-5 win over Jamestown in American Legion Baseball Monday afternoon at Jack Williams Stadium in Fargo.

Jamestown took a 4-2 lead with three unearned runs in the third and another in the fourth on Gage Orr’s suicide squeeze..

But Fargo came back and scored six times on five hits in the bottom of the fourth. Reed’s blast came on the first pitch he saw from Connor Hoyt and sent it towards the Red River over the left field fence.

Dawson Douty had two of Jamestown’s five hits. Chris Erickson scored twice. Erickson, Falk and Devin Lee had the other hits for Post 14.

In the second game, Jamestown played Perham and won 7-4 behind Chris Erickson’s four rbi.

Jamestown scored three in the second to take a 3-1 lead. After two were out, Ethan McKenney and Connor Hoyt singled and Dawson Douty received one of his four walks. On a 2-1 pitch, Erickson line one in to medium deep right center field. McKenney and Hoyt scored easily. Douty, with two out was off with the crack of the bat and never stopped until he scored from first on a long single.

Jamestown scored two runs in the third and fourth and McKenney and Kasen Rowell shutout Perham over the last three innings on one hit.

Erickson had two hits and scored once. McKenney had three hits. Douty did not have an official at bat because of the four walks but did score twice.

Jamestown is 9-9 overall and head to Beulah for a West Region doubleheader with the Cyclones. This weekend Post 14 will host the Phil Brown Classic. Carrington and Aberdeen will be in town for the Saturday and Sunday tournament. We will have all four Jamestown games on ESPN 1400  AM and newsdakota.com.
