JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For 29 years, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Jamestown branch has held their garden tour highlighting the beauty of the community.

AAUW continues to advance equity for women and girls through the Public Policy Program. Member Kelly Krein says they’re consistently working towards equity between men and women.

“AAUW Jamestown began nearly 90 years ago,” Krein stated. “We have both men and women that are part of our organization.”

In order to raise money for the group, Krein says they have their used bookstore and their annual Garden Tour on Wednesday, July 17th.

“We have four beautiful yards this year and those who are on the tour can start at any of the stops,” Krein pointed out.

The locations on the tour this year include:

-Connie Kanwischer at 1601 10th Avenue NE
-Don & Karen Schumacker at 3321 Highway 20 North
-Yvonne Wibstad at 206 5th Avenue SW
-Rod & Teri Wolters at 908 13th Street SW

All money raised benefits the AAUW Jamestown Branch and their other ventures. Cost to join the tour is $10 in advance and $12 the day of the tour. Refreshments will be served at the Jamestown Arts Center from 5:30 PM to 8 PM for tour participants.

“Bring good walking shoes and maybe some bug spray,” Krein noted.
