Aloysius “Louie” Anthony Amann, 77, passed away at home on July 15, 2019.  He was born June 21, 1942 in Valley City, ND to George and Helen (Kunze) Amann.

Louie was an amazing cook/baker.  Everything he made was delicious, from his cookies, bread and very popular homemade deep dish pizza to his latest creations of sauerkraut of which people loved.  He was born with a green thumb and was very proud as well as passionate about his garden and his flowers, of which he spent many hours tending to.  Louie loved music, singing in the men’s church choir, western and comedy movies.  He loved to laugh, he loved to play cards, he also loved nature and all wildlife.

Louie spent his last years of his life living on the family homestead near Dazey, ND.  Louie was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and friend.  He was a very proud grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Louie is survived by his three daughters, Stephanie (Kurt) Dahlin, Genevieve Amann and Brandi Halberg; 11 grandchildren, Mikaela, Garrett, Montana, Olivia, Rhett, Chloe, Natalie, Faith, Briar, Kyle and Rider.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Amann; brother, George; and sister, Kathleen.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27th, 2019 at 10:30AM in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
