CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Day two of the tourney started with two elimination games and then two quarterfinal contests, here are the results:

Harvey 6 Wishek/Linton 5

After losing to Cando by one run the first day, Harvey Post 28 bounced back and won by one run the second day of the tourney. After scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning, Harvey looked like they were going to cruise to victory. But Wishek/Linton scored four runs in the top of the third and one in the top of the fifth to take the lead 5-4. Post 28 would get one run back in the home half of the fifth and in the bottom of the seventh, Gage Balfour would draw a lead-off walk, then steal second and third, and on a wild pitch score the winning run. W/L ends their season at 2-14 overall.

Kidder County 7 Washburn 6

Washburn Post 12 led 6-2 after five in a half innings of play, but a big sixth for KC helped Post 231 stay alive another day. They scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth and held Washburn scoreless in the top of the seventh. Washburn ends their season at 5-16 overall.

New Rockford 1 Cando 0

Alex Harrison threw a 1 hit shutout to lead New Rockford past Cando. New Rockford had only 2 hits also but scored 1 unearned run in the fourth inning when Hunter Thompson singled & moved to second base on an error. Thompson scored later in the inning on a wild pitch with 2 outs. Keaton Nelsen had Cando’s only hit, a single with 2 outs in the second inning. Tommy Nikolaisen took the loss on the mound for Cando, allowing the 1 unearned run, struck out 8 batters, 2 hits allowed. Harrison struck out 7 Cando batters.

Carrington 8 Rolla 3

Carrington scored 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning and went to defeat Rolla 8-3 in the quarterfinals. Drew Page went 2-3 and drove in 3 runs. Payton Smith (2-3, RBI, run), Seth Nelson (1-3, 2RBI), Lucas Geiszler (2-3, run), Trey Rosenau (2-4, run) aided Carrington’s offense. Ethan Buskness took the win on the mound & Rolla was paced by Xavier Mitchell who went 3-4, scoring 2 runs. Andre Elick went 2-3 with 2 RBI for Rolla.

1245pm – Kidder County vs. Cando (elimination game)

3pm – Carrington vs. New Rockford (semifinal)

530pm – 1030am game winner vs. 1245pm game winner
