JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A huge community event featuring all emergency services in the Jamestown area will come together for the 2nd Annual National Night Out on August 6th.

National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Jamestown Police Officer Andrew Staska says they estimated upwards of 500 kids, parents, and adults made their way to the event last year at McElroy Park. Officer Staska says they’ll have numerous games and emergency services there.

The free event will also feature music and food, which Officer Staska has been generously donated. He also says new this year will be a dunk tank. Staska says with that, they may be taking donations that will help with another major event the department holds in the winter time.

Officer Staska says the main reason they hold the event is for the community.

The event is planned for Tuesday, August 6th at McElroy Park in Jamestown from 6 PM to 9 PM. All are welcome to join.
