JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The community of Jamestown will be encouraged to join in a pop-up demonstration put on by Jamestown Parks & Rec through the NDDOT in September.

During the Jamestown Finance & Legal Committee meeting Tuesday evening, the committee discussed the approval and authorization of the North Dakota Department of Transportation pop-up demonstration of a temporary multi-use path and walk/bike event September 6th and 7th.

City Administrator Sarah Hellekson.

Councilmember Steve Brubakken pointed out that the temporary path would travel from TRAC north on 12th Avenue across Highway 10 and north on Highway 20 before turning on 19th Street NE and over to the Jamestown Reservoir.

City Engineer Travis Dillman pointed out that there would be cones, crossing guards and signage at the event.

TRAC Facilities Manager Amy Walters is helping oversee the event. She says the event needs as much participation as possible to know what the community wants for connectivity.

The ride will take place from 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, September 7th. Walters says grants made the 12th Avenue path possible and data is need to apply for more grants to improve them.

The committee approved of the pop-up demonstration, which will be further discussed at their committee meetings on Thursday, August 22nd at 4 PM.
