VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Commission approved an amendment to the engineering agreement for the 5th Avenue Northwest reconstruction project not to exceed $40,000 at their regular meeting on September 3rd.

KLJ project manager Chad Petersen said the estimated cost the project is $3.2 million dollars. He said bids should be let in November of 2019.

Petersen said the estimated range for specials could be between $5,000 to $15,000 dollars per property pending the requirements of that property.

Earlier this year, the city commission approved a motion to widen the street to 34 feet to accommodate parking on one side of the street instead of keeping 5th Avenue NW at the current width of 30 feet due to new construction design guidelines according to city officials.

The improvement project should be completed by October of 2020.
