WASHINGTON, DC (NewsDakota.com) – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has awarded $620,054 to economic development organizations and communities across the state through its Rural Business Development Grant program.

Counties receiving funds include:

· Adams County Development Corporation – $150,000 to reopen a dining and recreational facility in Hettinger.

· Leeds Economic Development Corporation – $150,000 to support a new childcare facility in Leeds.

· Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa – $109,821 to provide technical assistance and training, supporting the creation of new businesses.

· Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation – $63,300 to support start-up ventures and rural small businesses through finance training.

· Tribal Nations Research Group – $51,577 to conduct a feasibility for a new commercial greenhouse on the Turtle Mountain reservation.

· Linton Industrial Development Corporation – $46,600 to provide financial technical assistance for a local software development company.

· Hettinger County – $27,000 to support the expansion of a local business through equipment purchases.

· Bowman County Development Corporation – $21,756 to study the feasibility of establishing a new business and repurposing a building on the community’s Main Street.

“These funds support business opportunities across our state. Each investment helps provide the necessary tools and resources to grow local economies and benefit community residents,” said Hoeven.
