JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Wilhelm family knows all too well about Huntington’s Disease.

Daniel Wilhelm, a co-owner of Wilhelm Chevrolet, Buick, GMC lost his life to the fatal genetic disorder. There currently is no cure for the disease.

To honor their brother, Jeff and Rod Wilhelm and Lisa Wilhelm-Lindberg organized the annual 5K run/walk and car show to raise money to fight the disease.

Steve (Skovy) Jaskoviak says the event is all to raise awareness and donations for Huntington’s.

Skovy says in 8 years of the event, they’ve raised more than $125,000 for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

Skovy says they’ll clear off the lot to make room for the car and the 5K run/walk. The event begins at 8 AM sharp on the lot. He says cars from Warroad out of The Shed.

The event will also feature a variety of different trophies and awards. Rod Wilhelm states that Miss Rodeo ND will be selecting the winning vehicle at the event.
