WIMBLEDON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Following just their 2nd loss of the season, Oakes Volleyball took care of Barnes County North in straight sets spanning roughly 45 minutes.

Oakes took the first set 25-10 after going on multiple lengthy runs. Tied at one, Oakes would go on an 11-0 run. In that span, Claire Wagner recorded four aces. Later in the set, Oakes would rattle off a 7-0 run and runaway with the opening set.

The 2nd set wasn’t much better for BCN as they were held to single digits in a 25-9 loss. Oakes went on its longest run of the night to close out the set on a 12-0 dash.

Set number three also went by in a hurry as Oakes took the third set 25-0. Laikyn Roney was named Player of the Match with four kills and four aces, Nicole Schmitz finished with 10 kills and Emma Muggly recorded six kills in the win.

Next time out for Oakes will be Tuesday October 8th at home against Midkota. The match can be heard on 1220AM/95.9FM KDDR “The Tornado.”
