JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – Sean Fenelon (SO/West Fargo, N.D.)’s 22-yard field goal in the fourth overtime lifted the University of Jamestown football team to a 13-10 Homecoming victory over Concordia (Neb.) University Saturday at Taylor Stadium.

A steady rain fell throughout much of the first half, quickly turning Rollie Greeno Field into a muddy mess.

Fenelon’s 32-yard field goal at the 5:01 mark of the first quarter was the only scoring until Concordia’s Jordan Spilinek connected on a 27-yarder of his own with 1:28 left in the third quarter.

In the first overtime, Jordan Mann (SR/Bismarck, N.D.) connected with Garrett Mitchell (SO/Shakopee, Minn.) on a 14-yard touchdown pass on third-and-14, and Fenelon’s extra point made it 10-3.

Concordia also found the end zone on their first possession, as Ryan Durdon bulldozed his way in from the one-yard line on fourth down. Spilinek made the extra point to force a second overtime.

Overtime number two ended with both kickers coming up short on field goal attempts. Jamestown faced fourth and 15 from the 30-yard line in the third overtime, but the threat ended as AJ Jenkins intercepted a Mann pass at the one-yard line. Spilinek missed a 39-yard field goal on the ensuing possession to send the game to yet another extra period.

The Jimmie defense came up with a huge stop of Durdon on fourth down and one from the six-yard line. Jamestown took the ball and benefitted from a pass interference call in the end zone on second-and-6. Three straight running plays netted just a single yard, so on fourth-and-goal UJ went for the field goal try and Fenelon came through for the win.

Allen Jevning (JR/Brainerd, Minn.) led UJ with 108 yards rushing on 31 carries. Jimmy Hatch (SR/Sacramento, Calif.) added 29 yards on 15 rushes. As a team, the Jimmies ran 68 times for 145 yards.

Mann completed three of his eight passing attempts for 44 yards. Mitchell caught three balls for 37 yards and Marcus Giles (SO/Blaine, Minn.) finished with one catch for 8 yards.

Aundre Purnell (SR/Garden Grove, Calif.) recorded 14 total tackles to pace the defense. Aaron Mack (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) had 10 solo tackles as part of his 11 total, two of which were for a loss. Darrick Jones (JR/Compton, Calif.) was in on 10 tackles, including seven solo. Mack and Stuard each forced a fumble, and Brooks Canfield (SO/Tempe, Ariz.) had a fumble recovery.
