VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With the large amount if snow that came over the weekend, that means a snow melt is due and that water will need somewhere to go.

Scott Tichy, Park Ranger at Lake Ashtabula says measures were taken Sunday to start making storage space for the water.

Tichy says public works had to close off the storm sewers on Sunday when they made the attempt to draw down the reservoir. Tichy says some minimum flooding may occur in Valley City because of this.

Tichy says they are looking at the river height less that to 13 feet in Vallkey City. Which he says is a good thing.

Tichy also says if you have boats or docks still Lake Ashtabula, now is the time to take them off.
