LISBON, N.D. (News Dakota.com) – The Lisbon Broncos offense scored early and often in their first round playoff game against the Grafton Spoilers.  Last weekend the Broncos offense struggled to score one touchdown in their 8 to 6 victory at Sargent County.  On Saturday the Broncos offense was unstoppable in the first half in route to their 54 to 18 victory.

Lisbon scored touchdowns on their first 5 drives in the first half.  Including an 86 yard touch drive to open the game.  The Broncos scored 16 points in a span of 33 second to close out the first half.  Leading at the half 40 to 6.  Before the Broncos offense got back on the field in the second half their lead had exploded to 54 to 6 after two straight defensive touchdowns, including an interception return by #55 Sam Rieger for a TD.

All 5 offensive TD’s were on the ground for the Broncos:

  1.  22 yard TD run by #2 Jordan Sours with 5:54 remaining in the 1st.  2 pt conversion was good.
  2.  15 yard TD run by #2 Jordan Sours with 1:44 remaining in the 1st.  2 pt conversion was good.
  3.  1 yard TD run by #12 Hunter Schultz with 9:19 remaining in the 2nd.  2 pt conversion was good.
  4.  3 yard TD run by #12 Hunter Schultz with :44 remaining in the 2nd.  2 pt conversion was good.
  5.  5 yard TD run by #2 Jordan Sours with :11 remaining in the 2nd. 2 pt conversion was good.

It will be a rematch game in round 2 of the playoffs next Saturday as the Thompson Tommies come to Lisbon.  The Tommies will try to avenge their 30 to 14 loss at home on Oct. 4th to the Broncos. It was the first home loss in over 5 years for Thompson.  Thompson won their first round game Saturday 20 to 6 over Harvey-Wells County.
