JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For more than 40 years, the James River Figure Skating Club (JRFSC) has provided young boys and girls the opportunity to become better skaters.

DeAnn Brunner is with the club and says they’re a local non-profit that has continued to provide that avenue for those interested in ice skating.

Brunner says an event on Sunday, December 8th called “Cartoon Christmas” will allow family members, friends, and the public to see what the club has been up to this year.

Brunner pointed out that Santa Clause will also be out on the ice and skating with all the kids following the show during open skate at the Wilson Arena.

Another big part of the event is the raffle drawing. Members of the club have been selling raffle tickets to win the Pioneer 700 Deluxe from Gun & Reel Sports or a $10,000 prize. Tickets can still be purchased and the drawing will be held this Sunday.

Brunner says being a non-profit, they rely heavily on donations and fundraisers like this.

“Cartoon Christmas” will be held on December 8th at 4:30 PM at the Wilson Arena in Jamestown. Following that, there will be free skate for the public.
