JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The first day of the 2019 Stutsman County Invitational Class B Girls Basketball Tournament was held on Thursday at the Jamestown Civic Center, here are the results:

Medina/Pingree/Buchanan 62  Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 38

The number one seed from District 5 MPB scored 22 points in the second quarter to take a 27-20 lead at halftime and never looked back as the Thunder improve to 2-0 on the season and move into the semifinals. Senior Megan Moser led the way with 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Eighth grader Allison Thomas added 16 points, including two 3-pointers and Senior Gracie Bohl had 12 points. EKM wes led by Senior Maren Berntson with 16 points and eight rebounds and Jocelynn Madcke with 13 points and four steals. MPB shot 51% from the field.

Ellendale 37  Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter 29

NGS led 11-9 after one quarter, Ellendale took the lead at halftime 21-20 but held the Imperials to just nine second half points to help secure the victory. The Cardinals were led by Abigail Molan with 10 points and six rebounds. NGS was led by Tanecia Kleppe and McKenzie Glatt with six each.

Midkota 51  South Border 47

In a game that featured eight lead changes and six ties, the number three seeded Mustangs of Midkota from District 5 knock off the number two seeded Mustangs of South Border from District 6 by four points. Brenna Anderson had 17 points and Nicole Beckley added 10 for Midkota, they shot 50% from the field and made 13/18 free throws. Nicole Schmidt had 18 and Emily Jochim add 10 points for SB.

Carrington 74  Warwick 28

Kiera Eli hit four 3-pointers and had 22 points to help the Cardinals get their second victory of the year and move into the semifinals Friday night, Hannah Hagel added 18 points and six rebounds. Sunnie Belgarde had eight points to lead the Warriors.
