CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carrington School District Superintendent Dr. Brian Duchscherer has announced his retirement after 14 years of service.

Dr. Duchscherer began his teaching career in 1987 and has been a superintendent for the last 20 years. He started in Wishek, ND and has served Carrington for the last 14 years.

Dr. Duchscherer says right now, they’re looking at a strategic plan to look forward to the next few years in the school district.

In his time with Carrington, Dr. Duchscherer has overseen the building of the new elementary school and has worked on changing the culture for students and employees.

Dr. Duchscherer also took time to thank his staff, faculty, students, and community that helped him during his time with the district.

His last day will be June 30th.

Dr. Duchscherer says in his next five months, they’ll be asking for input for their strategic plan.

The public is encouraged to join the upcoming School Board meeting to help create a plan for the district. The meeting will be at the High School on February 4th at 6 PM.
