OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Another dominating victory for the Oakes Tornadoes girls basketball team as they improve to 9-2 on the season.

Oakes defeated Napoleon-Gackle/Streeter (NGS) 67-22 Tuesday night from Oakes High School.

A roaring 16-0 run started the game for Oakes. The remainder of the game followed suit as Coach Hack was able to go deep into his bench for the fifth straight game.

During this dominating five game winning streak, Oakes has won their games by an average of 38.2 PPG.

In the win Tuesday over NGS, Oakes’ leading scorers were Nicole Schmitz with 17 points, Abby Cox with a season high 12 points, and Laikyn Roney with 10.

NGS’ leading scorer and only scorer in double digits was Teagan Erbele with 10.

A tough district opponent awaits Oakes on Thursday night. The Tornadoes take on (RV) Carrington at 7:15. The game can be heard on KDDR.
