CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A very busy weekend for Cardinals sports, here are the results for the basketball teams, wrestlers and Cardinaires Dance team:

BBB Velva 41 Carrington39

On Friday night, the Cardinals boys basketball team took on the Aggies of Velva in a non-region contest. Senior Seth Nelson scored 23 points but it wasn’t enough as the Aggies get the victory by two points, 41-39. Gage Florence led the way for Velva with nine points.

GBB RV Carrington 54 No. 3 Rugby 41

Kiera Eli had 16 points to help the Cardinals knock off the number three rated Panthers on Saturday evening 54-41. The Cardinals outscored the Panthers 24-10 in the third quarter. Carrington improves to 12-2 overall, the Panthers suffer their first loss of the season and are 12-1 overall.

BBB No. 2 Rugby 86 Carrington 48

Senior Jaden Hamilton had 17 points including five 3-pointers, Trace Goven added 16 and Devan Michels had 12 points to help the number two rated Panthers improve to 11-0 overall on Saturday night, Carrington drops to 1-11 overall. Seth Nelson led all scorers with 25 points, he scored his 1,000th point in the second quarter. Hudson Schmitz added 10 for Carrington.

Next up for the Cardinals Wrestlers will be the Devils Lake Triangular on Thursday, Jan. Carrington will take on Devils Lake and West Fargo, KDAK will have coverage starting about 7pm.
