NORTH DAKOTA (NewsDakota.com) – Donations of at least $10 made to any of The Salvation Army’s six locations in North Dakota on Thursday, Feb. 13 will be matched as part of Giving Hearts Day 2020.

A generous donor has provided $6,500 dollars to each North Dakota location to be used as matching funds for Giving Hearts Day. Salvation Army locations in Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Minot and Williston will all be participating. Donations on Giving made to any of these service centers will be matched up to $6,500 per location.

Giving Hearts Day is North Dakota’s biggest day of the year for charitable giving. To donate to The Salvation Army, please visit GivingHeartsDay.org anytime on Feb. 13. Search for “Salvation Army” and select the desired location you want to support.

Donations to The Salvation Army provide food, shelter, clothing, and other critical services for people and families experiencing poverty.

“For many, poverty is an ongoing struggle,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “And data shows that homelessness is on the rise. By giving to The Salvation Army on Giving Hearts Day, you help provide important resources to those in your community who are battling poverty and homelessness. We are very thankful for the generous support given by North Dakota residents.”

Interviews with local market officers can be arranged. The Salvation Army Northern Division has been serving Minnesota and North Dakota communities since 1886.
