JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There are several familiar, yet new faces in downtown Jamestown recently.

The Jamestown Downtown Association reports that thanks in part to some recent CDBG grant funding, different businesses in the downtown area have experienced renovations or expansions of some type.

“We’re really excited to see downtown receive this sort of facelift,” Jamestown Downtown President Lynn Lambrecht stated. “It’s really amazing to see some of these older buildings be updated and filled with existing and promising new businesses.”

One building currently undergoing renovations is the Orriginals north building. The storefront renovation is being made possible with Community Development Block Grants, or CDBG funding.

“The JDA working in conjunction with the South Central Regional Development Council helped to facilitate the submission of 8 possible projects to the North Dakota Department of Commerce for consideration in the next round of grants for 2020,” the JDA reports. “Upon their approval of qualifications, these projects will then go through a scoring and ranking system to determine grant awards. Much thanks to Traci Redlin with SCRDC for her hard work and dedication to this process.”

The former Witthauer building has also been fixed up to house the new Jamestown eatery “Davoni’s”. No opening date has been set yet.

The JDA also reports expansion is taking place at the Home Design Center as they add another location to their growing business t the former Family Dollar building at 506 10th Street.

In other downtown news, the JDA reports that a post on the former Pita Palace Facebook page indicates the building at 110 2nd Street NW is listed as “sale pending”. However, no further details are available.
