FARGO, N.D. (NDHP) – A car fled from a traffic stop involving a ND Highway Patrol Trooper on I-94 in Fargo shortly after 8am Wednesday morning.

The vehicle was traveling 83 mph in a 55. The trooper attempted a traffic stop and the driver fled eastbound reaching a speed of 95. While in ND, the vehicle struck a motorist and continued to flee.

The suspect vehicle entered MN and exited I-94 at Exit 1 in Moorhead. While exiting, the suspects vehicle struck a pickup, which caused a chain reaction crash involving five more vehicles in Minnesota.

After crashing, the suspect was taken into custody without incident by the NDHP. The suspect, 18 year-old Abdifatah Mohamud Jama of Moorhead faces several charges including misdemeanor DUI, felony Reckless Endangerment and felony Fleeing Law Enforcement.

The MN State Patrol is investigating the crashes that occurred in MN. And the NDHP is investigating the crash in ND. No injuries were reported.
