MOORHEAD, MN (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Figure Skating Club continued their successful season at the Red River Valley International Classic Figure Skating Competition February 14-16 in Moorhead, MN. A total of 21 skating clubs and over 300 skaters competed over the weekend.

Individual results are as follows:
Karla Sherfy – 2nd in Pre-Juvenile Compulsory, 2nd in Excel Juvenile Free Skate, 3rd in Pre-Juvenile Artistic;
Terese Kolden – 5th in Excel Preliminary Compulsory, 4th in Excel Preliminary Free Skate, 6th in Preliminary Artistic,
Annika Tweten – 1st in Juvenile/Open Juvenile Compulsory 6th in Excel Juvenile Plus Free Skate, 3rd in Juvenile/Open Juvenile Artistic;
Gabby Tweten – 3rd in Intermediate Compulsory, 2nd in Excel Intermediate Plus Free Skate, 1st in Intermediate Artistic;
Synneva Sortland – 4th in Pre-Juvenile Compulsory, 2nd in Excel Pre-Juvenile Free Skate, 3rd in Pre-Juvenile Artistic;
Avery Graves – 1st in Excel Preliminary Compulsory, 1st in Excel Preliminary Free Skate, 3rd in Preliminary Artistic;
Reece Heery –2nd in Excel High Beginner Compulsory, 1st in High Beginner Free Skate, 1st in Excel Beginner/High Beginner Artistic;
Keira Lambrecht –1st in Excel Beginner Compulsory, 1st in Excel Beginner Free Skate, 2nd in Beginner/High Beginner Artistic;
Siri Tweten – 1st in Excel Beginner Compulsory, 1st in Excel Beginner Free Skate, 2nd in Beginner/High Beginner Artistic;

The club is coached by Mark Vasarhelyi.

The Red River Valley International Classic also offers the Tom Wilson (formerly Archie Vraa) final round in the artistic event with cash Memorial Skating Scholarship awards to be given to the top three finishers. There are two flights: Preliminary through Pre-Juvenile AND Juvenile/Open Juvenile through Senior.

In the event more than twelve in each flight would advance to the final round, there may be an initial final round to determine advancement to the final round. This year Gabby Tweten qualified and placed 2nd in the Juvenile-Senior division.
