BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For the third straight night, the Jamestown High boys basketball had to play overtime in the West Region tournament. However, this time they came out on the wrong side of the championship game. Bismarck held on for an 84-79 win in the extra session.

Jamestown lead by 10 at 34-24 with about 2:30 to play in the first half, but the Demons ended the half on a 10-2 run to cut the deficit to a single possession. In the second half, it was Jamestown trying to hang on as the Demons pressure started to wear them down.

Bismarck lead 72-68 with under a minute to go, but Jamestown scored the final four points. Carson Lamp scored to cut the lead in half and then after a missed free throw from Bismarck, the last two came on a Keith Levin layup with under five seconds to go.

Treysen Eaglestaff’s triple 90 seconds into overtime gave Bismarck their last lead at 77-74 and they held off the Jays the rest of the way.

Brooks Carroll lead the way with 27 points kept the Jays alive with a couple huge threes in the final minutes of regulation.

Up next: Jamestown will play Devils Lake at 8pm on Thursday at the SHAC in Fargo.
