MCINTOSH COUNTY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The McIntosh County and Logan County Sheriff’s Offices have jointly released information on a “significant increase” in thefts and break-ins being reported.

“The number of reported incidents of thefts and breaking and entering [is] in both counties,” the release states.

“Law enforcement remains diligent and dedicated to investigating past crimes and preventing future crimes. It has been determined that part of this response is to ensure that the public is fully informed and have an opportunity to respond as they deem appropriate.”

Residents are being encouraged to:

-Lock doors to all homes and vehicles when not in use
-Notify family, friends, and/or neighbors of your absence and have them report suspicious activity
-Visit or have someone visit your properties if nobody resides there and/or install game cameras on the property.

“If you see something, say something,” the offices stated.
