JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Department of Human Services has approved more than 1,000 renters through the Emergency Rent Bridge (ERB).

ERB is a temporary rental assistance for households impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Housing providers aka property owners and managers need to create an OMB vendor account to receive the approved rent payments,” NDHFA Communications and Events Coordinator Sarah Mudder states. “The state of North Dakota can only pay them if they are identified in that system as vendors. Once the account is established, the process of requesting the rent payment takes minutes and housing providers receive the payment(s) within one week.”

To qualify for the assistance, renters must be experiencing an economic hardship that is COVID-related, have a lease and limited savings and other resources, and be income qualified. A month-to-month lease is acceptable.
