VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One race of statewide interest that received a lot of attention was the State Treasurer Office in North Dakota. Republican District 24 State Representative Daniel Johnston received 884 votes in Barnes County while Republican Thomas Beadle received 631. The statewide total is available on the ND Secretary of State website.

Two are seeking the Democratic nomination to run for the U.S. House of Representative in North Dakota. In Barnes County Roland Riemers received 453 votes while Zach Raknerud got 392. The statewide results are on the ND Secretary of State website.

The other race of interest is the Superintendent of Public Instruction. In Barnes County, Kirsten Baesler got 1,446 votes while Brandt Dick had 570 and Charles Tuttle received 485 votes. The statewide results are on the ND Secretary of State website.

In the District 1 Barnes County Commission race Cindy Schwehr received 461 and Rockne Earles got 196. The two will face each other in the General Election on November 3rd

In the District 5 Barnes County Commission race Scott Cole received 470 votes while Pete Paulson received 79 votes. The two will face each other in the November election.

In the Valley City Commission race Michael Bishop was elected to another term with 1,181 votes while Richard Gulmon was elected to his first time with 1,215 votes.

In the Valley City Park Board race for a four-year term Ross Powell received 1,140 vote and Jordyn Todd Heck was elected to his first full four-year term with 1,302 votes.

Rich Schueneman received the most votes as a write-in candidate for the unexpired 2-year term on the Valley City Park Board. The final results are pending with the Barnes County Auditor’s office.
