JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Dakota Anglers agree that fishing is one of the best social distancing activities you can do.

That’ll be their recommendation during the 40th Annual Little Britches Fishing Tournament Saturday, June 20th in Jamestown. Dakota Anglers member Dave Schmidt says they were sad to cancel their big fishing tournament earlier this year, but said they really wanted to hold this one for the kids.

The long-running tournament puts a team of one child and one adult together to fish one lake in the area and compete for the biggest catch of the day. Schmidt says they begin with registration at 8 AM at Joos Grove in Jamestown.

Weigh in will be held at 2 PM following the tournament with plaques being awarded to winners in each class; 0-6, 7-10, 11-13, and 14-16.

Schmidt added that there will also be some live worms for sale at registration.

There will be no picnic or games following the event this year. Registration is free.
