OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Over halfway through the season and Oakes baseball remains undefeated at 6-0 after its 9-3 victory Monday night over Enderlin.

Brady McKenna made his third start of the season. In the first pair of starts McKenna allowed just one earned run through 11 innings of work with a 5-inning complete game mixed in. McKenna added his first 7-inning complete game this season as he went the distance striking out 13 batters Monday night.

The 4th inning propelled Oakes’ lineup to a victory, and it all came with two outs. David Schmitz started the rally with a single, and after six more hitters reached, Oakes pushed across four runs.

Lead-off hitter and second baseman Coy Awender produced one of those RBI in the inning and proceeded to drive in three more with a pair of doubles later in the game.

Howie Neustel added two RBI, while Garret Meehl and Steele Hansen each added one.

Oakes took the season series over Enderlin 2-0 and now faces just four regular season games remaining through the end of July. All four games will be against Lisbon or LaMoure.
